Fishline Raises Vital Funds at Summer Escape Annual Gala

News

On Friday, July 15th, Fishline’s annual Summer Escape fundraiser brought more than 160 guests together to celebrate and raise vital funds for our communities most vulnerable neighbors in need.

Located in the beautiful Heronswood Gardens, this instrumental fundraiser was raised more than $177,000 in funds to help our community. The raise the paddle portion brought in $51,000, which is the most ever raised during this segment of the program!

“Not only is this Fishline’s main fundraiser of the year, but it is also a truly fun community event. The pandemic has taken a terrible toll on the residents of North Kitsap. In June, we had 170 new individuals sign up for services and in the past quarter, we’ve had over 400 new families register for food and other critical assistance,” Said Jagoda Perich-Anderson, Fund Development and Event Chair.

We are proud to share with the community that 95 cents of every dollar raised, goes directly to programs and services. These funds will be used to ensure that children will have access to birthday and Christmas gifts, school supplies, weekend meals, and free clothing. It also supports clients who need access to transportation, rent and utilities assistance, safe overnight parking, and of course our food bank and pantry which are stocked with fresh produce and healthy eating options daily.

“Fishline is incredibly grateful to the North Kitsap community for their continued support and passion for helping others find a path to self-sustainability.”

“We owe a special thank you to our Board, staff and volunteers for planning and executing this successful event! We are also grateful for the support of donors, and sponsors, including our media partners, the Kitsap Sun, and Sound Publishing”. Said Lori Maxim, Executive Director of Fishline.
