End of Year Giving

by | Dec 12, 2022 | News

Dear Friends,

As 2022 comes to an end, Fishline wants to take a moment to thank the North Kitsap Community for all its kindness and support. Your donations have helped us provide a safety-net to the most vulnerable members of our community.

We would like to introduce you to Maria, and her three children, 14-year old Michael and twin-seven year-olds Chris and Diana. Maria made the brave decision to leave an abusive relationship and turned to Fishline as she had nowhere to go. After the family stayed in our safe parks, Fishline was able to provide a check to cover the deposit and first month’s rent for an apartment. The family was able to move in the next day and our case managers worked with Maria to create a sustainable budget for their expenses going forward. Fishline also helped the family obtain school clothes for the children, a birthday gift for the Michael, afterschool childcare for the twins, and gifts under the tree this coming Christmas. Staff see the family weekly when they visit to shop in our Healthy Foods Market.

As we approach Christmas and the New Year, Fishline knows that the need is increasing for neighbors in North Kitsap. Just in the past six months, over 350 new households have registered for services. And given the rising food costs across the country, we anticipate that the number of clients will continue to grow. Your donation helps us ensure that our community remains hopeful, healthy, and safe. Won’t you join us by giving today?

  • Donate $10 to provide a family like Maria’s dinner
  • Donate $100 to pay a utility bill for a month
  • Donate $330 so a family like Maria’s have gifts under the tree on Christmas Morning.
  • Donate $1,900 to pay a family’s rent for the month
  • A Donation of ANY size will make a difference to a struggling neighbor.

At Fishline, we are committed to helping our community and our neighbors. This year your support is even more important than ever before.

We are a community supported independent 501©(3) organization. Your gift is tax deductible and will be receipted in January 2023. For more information, please see our website at: www.fishlinehelps.org.

Thank you for your support and I wish you and your family the happiest of holiday seasons.

With Gratitude,

Lori Maxim
