Thank you for considering giving your time and talent to Fishline. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. In 2023 Fishline completed almost 35,000 hours which is equivalent to 16 full-time staff members.
By donating your time as a volunteer with us you:

Opportunities
Market
Volunteers assist with greeting and checking in clients, grocery check-out, carrying bags, pushing shopping carts, and loading groceries into clients’ vehicles.
Second Season Thrift Store
We are looking for volunteers to accept and process donations, provide customer support, and organize and price merchandise, which helps fund Fishline’s programs and services.
Client Services
Social Services program volunteers are passionate, patient, kind, dedicated, and comfortable interacting with a large diverse population.
Drivers
Do you want to help and stay behind the scenes and enjoy driving? Join our volunteer driver team.
Swank Grow and Share Farm
Help us grow and cultivate fresh produce to distribute in our market for our clients.

How can I stay updated on upcoming volunteer opportunities?
Volunteers have access to a portal that shows available shifts in each department and receive a message each week from Charlie that shares Fishline news and any task forces that are being created. In addition, Volunteer Tidbits email shares upcoming volunteer-specific training and events.
What should I wear to Volunteer?
Can I donate my time in a specialized way (development, marketing, events, etc.)?
Fishline understands that our volunteers have specific skills that would help further our mission and vision. Please get in touch with Collin directly if you would like to lend your expertise to us.
How old do you have to be to volunteer at Fishline?
Do you accept individuals with court-mandated community service hours?
It is subject to the discretion of Fishline Management. We do not accept volunteers whose charge relates to an act of violence, bias or hate crimes, weapons and firearm offenses, and sexual misconduct. Please email [email protected] with your court paperwork for review.
What happens if I want to go on vacation?

Do you accept internships?
We accept some internships, usually through an outside organization (such as Coffee Oasis), work programs through the Washington State Department of Social and Human Services, or educational institutions for school credit. Please reach out to [email protected] to see if we can accommodate it. Fishline does not provide any form of payment for internships.
