January 19, 2021

Dear Staff, Clients, and Volunteers,

Please be advised that Fishline was notified that a volunteer who worked in the Market on January 12th, 14th, and 19th has tested positive for COVID-19. The volunteer notified Fishline’s Volunteer Manager the afternoon of January 19th that they were exhibiting symptoms while working in the Market. As an immediate response to protect the health and safety of our workforce, we are notifying all employees, clients, volunteers and partner agencies that we are temporarily shutting down the Market and CSC for professional cleaning. The Fishline campus at 19705 Viking Way NW will be closed on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

We are also taking the following steps:

  • Staff will be working remotely
  • Professional sanitization of all Fishline campus buildings and vehicles
  • All Market food pickup and Home Deliveries will be postponed until Thursday, January 21, 2021.
  • Market Staff (Fishline’s Market Manager, Volunteer Manager, and Market Assistant) will undergo testing as soon as possible and will work remotely until negative results are confirmed.
  • We will be closing the Fresh Start Shower program on Wednesday, January 20th. Fresh Start will reopen on Friday, January 22nd
  • Volunteers who may have been exposed will be contacted directly by Fishline staff.

We ask that you abide by the following federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to protect your health and those around you:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Follow all recommendations provided by the CDC here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html.

If you, or someone in your household, exhibits COVID-19 related symptoms, please notify the Volunteer Manager or Executive Director immediately, so that we may track any potential outbreaks within our organization.  All such personal information will remain confidential.

Your health and safety is our priority. We are continually assessing this situation and will contact you no later than close of business Thursday, January 21, 2021 via email, with all relevant workplace notices detailing your rights and protections as our employee, client, and/or volunteer.

You may contact the Volunteer Manager or Executive Director with questions or concerns. The Volunteer Manager can be reached at: [email protected], 360-208-0102. The Executive Director can be reached at: [email protected], 360-208-0103.

These are trying times for us all, and we are here for you.

Respectfully,

Lori Maxim

Executive Director, Fishline
